— Discussing Japan’s Growth Strategy Starting from Refugee Entrepreneurship —
On November 14, Welcome Japan hosted the CxO Council Roundtable, a forum for business leaders and executives.
At the roundtable, Jintae Kim, Representative of Robo Co-op and Welcome Japan, delivered a keynote presentation. Taking “Refugees × Entrepreneurship” as the central theme, he highlighted how the strengths of refugee entrepreneurs—such as resilience, multilingual capabilities, and cross-border networks—can contribute to addressing labor shortages in Japan, revitalizing local communities, and enhancing the country’s global competitiveness.
The session also featured discussions on international best practices, as well as challenges related to institutional frameworks, financing, and market access in Japan. Participants actively exchanged views on practical solutions that align closely with ESG principles and human capital management.
In closing, concrete actions that companies, investors, startups, and public-sector organizations can begin engaging in today were presented, underscoring the importance of cross-sector collaboration.
Moving forward, Robo Co-op, in collaboration with Welcome Japan, will continue to promote the development of a sustainable ecosystem centered on refugee entrepreneurship and contribute to inclusive growth in Japanese society.
